How To Get Here

By Road
Elphin is 14 miles north of Ullapool on the A835. (3 miles south-west of Ledmore Junction)

By Public Transport
During the school terms there are several buses a day between Lochinver and Ullapool. (out of school terms there is a less frequent service) This service is operated by George Rapson Travel and the latest timetable can be found here.

During the summer holidays the Far North (Durness) Bus operates a service between Durness and Lairg via Lochinver and Ullapool (and Elphin). More information can be found here. Onward travel is available by bus or ferry (to Stornaway) from Ullapool and bus or train (to Inverness) from Lairg.

D&E Coaches and Citylink buses run regularly between Inverness and Ullapool.

By Foot
There is a public footpath from Lochinver which leaves Lochinver via Glencanisp Lodge and arrives at the main road 1 mile north of Elphin. This is a Scottish “footpath”. It is not particularly well marked and very boggy at the end but does have absolute tranquility and stunning scenery.
