Elphin Dog Show and Art Competition

Elphin Dog Show and Art Competition

Despite mixed weather and strong winds Elphin’s Premier Dog Show and Art Competition played host to up to a hundred enthusiastic dog owners + pets, some from far afield. Events were held (weather permitting) on the lawn of the community centre and (weather not-permitting) inside a giant marquee erected specially for the competition! Amongst the many important events (too numerous to mention) to be decided were – Dog with the waggiest tail, Dog most like his/her master, Best six legged competition (master & dog), most Obedient dog and Shaggiest dog.

The Children’s art competition contained a huge field of excellent entries. Prizes were awarded for best pre-school, best from Primaries 1 -3 and best from Primaries 4 to 7. Note that the children were invited to draw a scene from a Dog’s perspective!

Pictures from the day are shown here in roughly chronological order..
